Hills Antenna & TV Systems places contract for upgraded antenna manufacturing equipment.

Hills Antenna & TV Systems has placed a contract with Asytec Pty Ltd for new automated machinery to expand the manufacturing capability at its antenna factory in O'Sullivans Beach, Adelaide.

Hills Antenna & TV Systems has been manufacturing TV antennas in Adelaide for over 50 years and is the leading supplier of TV and satellite antennas in Australia.

Australian made brands such as Optimax, Ultimax, Spectramax, DigiTel, Tru-Match and Platinum High Definition have long been recognised throughout Australia for their robust construction and excellent electrical performance.

However, over recent years, Hills has faced increasing pressure from low priced competitors who offer imported products, sometimes direct copies of Hills’ design, generally from the SE Asian region.

In response to this competition, the Australian manufacturer has decided to upgrade and modernise its plant in order to increase the efficiency of its operations.

The new machinery will be used to manufacture a new range of quality VHF and UHF TV antennas for the Australian and NZ markets.

The new designs have a number of patents pending and will be released to Australian customers in late 2011.
